About Me
Allison has over 20 years of experience as a New Jersey based school social worker. She has the unique perspective of sitting on both sides of the table as a Child Study Team case manager and the mother of a daughter with dyslexia. Allison works with students that have differences including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety, depression, communication impairments, explosive behaviors and various health conditions. As a consultant, Allison uses her trademark warmth, compassion and kind-hearted approach to demystify the special education classification process, prepare parents to confidently partner with their school district’s Child Study Team and guide families around supporting the needs of their children both in school and out of school.
Allison has a breadth of experience in writing strength-based IEPs, interpreting assessments, making referrals to private providers and guiding parents, teachers and administrators through the complex world of special education. She strongly believes that helping parents to better understand their childrens’ academic, social-emotional and behavioral needs will empower them to partner most effectively and positively with their school district. Allison earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lehigh University. She holds an LSW from the State of New Jersey. Allison lives in South Jersey with her husband, two young adult children and two cute dogs. Consulting services are provided in New Jersey and all other states.

Gollin Educational Consulting Services, LLC, offers a variety of services to meet the needs of parents of children with special needs. These services include:

Understanding how their child’s social-emotional, communication, learning and/or behavioral difficulties might impact their academics.

Determining if special education is warranted or if other supports might suffice.

Reviewing and interpreting assessments.

Providing direction for and empowering parents with knowledge for IEP or 504 meeting(s).
Allison also provides ongoing consultation to ensure that children are receiving the support and services they need to succeed. She also offers parent webinars to help you navigate the special education system and become an effective advocate for your child. Teacher trainings available, too.

Document Review
$75 (Includes thorough review of child study team or private evaluations)
Educational Advisory Quick Start
$120 for up to 90 minutes via Zoom
On Going Support
Option 1:
$500 retainer for 6 hours of work (includes emails, phone calls, further document review)
Option 2:
30 minute educational consulting session - $50/session
60 minute educational consulting session - $75/session
